NATIONAL GALLERY SINGAPORE
In commemorating Singapore’s 55th National Day, National Gallery
Singapore projected Ong’s Capacity & Opportunity onto the
museum’s exterior, illuminating the façade with colour.
Capacity & Opportunity explores the relationship between
individuals, the digital screens they use, and the digital spaces they
inhabit. Ong’s composition, brushwork, and colours are inspired by
the figurative and gestural abstraction of Affandi’s Self Portrait
(1975).
The Gallery’s façade illumination is part of precinct-wide light-up of
monuments and cultural institutions in the Civic District and
Bras.Basah.Bugis precinct.
